Plant on Demand (POD) careers
Plant on Demand is an online platform for the short-food supply chain. We provide local farmers, cooperatives, small retailers and food markets with their own sales portal built specifically for the agrifood sector. The platform also automatizes the order preparation, logistics and paperwork saving up to 60% on the admin time. Our aim is to make local production as competitive and convenient as traditional means and to foster cooperation along the chain, helping to promote more sustainable production and consumption systems
The project was born after a profound research on the Spanish and European short-food supply chain: we realized there was a huge lack of technology adapted to the needs, processes, budged and knowledge in technology of producers, coops and retailers. This issue, has indeed generated a delay on the adoption of technology, digitalization and automatization that the sector still suffers now a days. For solving this issue, we have developed a platform design to and by the agents of the sector, matching their processes and needs.
The plaform allows users to easily create their own online sales portal in less than 15 minutes and to manage all the commercial related activities automatically, from picking to logistics and administration. The platform also provides a digital tool for agents to cooperate, selling and organizing their logistics joinly. Thus, the platform provides a complete solution for commertialization, enabling users to have the complete cycle in a centralized place.
Since all the commercial transactions are done through our platform, we can apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to the daily data generated and other external data sources, to train models to predict supply and demand of local products, paving the way to proactively plant based on predicted demand on a sustainable way. In addition, by retraining our AI models based on new data and learning from errors, our platform’s neural and deep networks will keep improving
