Our Pitch to our employees is the same pitch to our Investors - Superheroes and Comics have been around for decades and will continue to be around forever, the character merchandising market is ~ US$ 50 Bn globally and yet India has enjoyed a small share of the pie due to the nascent licensing ecosystem and paucity of quality licensees that understand these characters! The founders of Planet Superheroes left their very well paying corporate careers in Private Equity, Venture Capital and Retail to start something that was fresh, differentiated, had a big enough market potential and yet had reasonable barriers to entry. With a quick run of importing and selling Captain America T-Shirts in 2013, a venture was born dedicated to the niche of Superheroes, Comics and TV Shows. If there is anything out there which is related to this genre, we will sell it (as long as it is licensed and authentic of course). We are proud to say that some of the biggest brands from Warner Bros, Marvel, Fox and Cartoon Network among others are our partners in bringing these characters to life! We reach out to our consumers via an Omni-Channel Retail strategy, via our e-commerce portal, online marketplaces as well as modern retail to cater to the the "touch and feel" customer. Recently backed by smart money, our investors include marquee venture capitalists focused on consumer facing businesses, a leading angel network and strategic investors that run global character merchandising businesses across the world. While we do work among fantasy characters, we are extremely data driven and are believers in the lean startup philosophy!
