Grids should be underground. Above-ground utilities are vulnerable to natural and man-made threats. Petra is transforming grid infrastructure to make undergrounding more accessible for ALL communities. Petra's undergrounding robot bores utility tunnels through the hardest rocks on earth—which are often located in the most fire and wind prone areas—faster and cheaper than conventional methods. Infrastructure is vulnerable; Communities are at risk. The damage to above-ground grid infrastructure during wildfires and storms can be catastrophic. We need new methods to protect life and property in the face of increasing disasters.
