StrokeApp is an HIPAA-compliant, patient-facing mHealth app that customizes inpatient education based on type, location & severity of stroke. Personalized content for the patient or their caregiver allows learning to be individualized to the user's preferred pace, preparedness & health literacy. Designed as a mobile health coach or personal RN, StrokeApp is made available on admission and remains by the patient's side through hospitalization and beyond. StrokeApp simplifies need-to-know information to 4th-grade reading levels, with content that remains relevant through changing care settings (i.e.: ICU, inpatient rehab, home, etc.). Similar to Rosetta Stone's innovative use of “immersion” to facilitate learning of languages, personalRN leverages the inpatient environment to provide an immersive educational experience which helps patients & their loved ones become fluent in the language of their disease.
