Culture and benefits at Pass Netzero
Culture overview
We're a globally distributed team of environmental scientists, researchers, and changemakers united by urgency around climate action. Our culture centers on scientific rigor meets startup agility. People we hire: Environmental scientists with entrepreneurial drive, researchers who think commercially, and doers who thrive in ambiguous, high-impact work. We're always seeking proactive people for our communication team who work autonomously, take initiative, and don't need constant micromanagement. How we work: Fully remote with extreme flexibility—take time off anytime, organize your work however suits you. Teams report progress every 6 weeks. General Assemblies happen roughly every 6 months (mandatory annually, but we expect intermediate sessions too). We use virtual meetings for collaboration across time zones spanning Namibia to Malawi to France. Values we embody: We embrace the Yellow Value System from Spiral Dynamics—systemic thinking, integral and inclusive solutions, and "manifesting ourselves but not at the cost of others". This means we see the value in multiple perspectives, think multi-dimensionally, and focus on knowledge, flexibility, and contributing to the whole rather than status or power. Fair compensation: We're not volunteer-run. Everyone gets paid according to contribution—modest by developed nation standards but well above average salaries in African countries where we operate. We believe environmental work shouldn't be left to volunteers; it deserves professional compensation as environmental justice. Lifestyle: We value low environmental footprint living and tend to be outdoor enthusiasts and sustainability advocates pursuing advanced environmental degrees.
