Parsley is a Public Benefits Corporation whose mission is to promote the economic flourishing of working people through the development of data-driven technology to:
- empower individual decision-making to result in greater economic security and long-term growth;

- assist employers seeking to improve job quality, retention and advancement;

- support workforce development providers seeking to serve job-seekers more effectively;

- and inform policy-makers of the impacts of benefit rules on their constituents.

Parsley was formed when workforce partners in Dane County, Wisconsin joined forces to participate in the Alliance for the American Dream Challenge as “Opportunity Calculator.” The alliance is sponsored by Schmidt Futures, a philanthropic initiative founded by Eric and Wendy Schmidt.

After advancing through several rounds of local competition supported by the University of Wisconsin’s Institute for Research on Poverty, Opportunity Calculator was awarded $500,000 to help raise the net income of 10,000 Dane County families by ten percent through the use of our tool.

We’ve since incorporated as Parsley Solutions, PBC, a Public Benefit Corporation. Our team is unified by a shared mission of empowering workers to have agency over their careers by providing them with information, tools and connections they need to make decisions about jobs, benefits and training opportunities. We believe that employers who seek to create a sustainable and thriving workforce are a critical part of this mission.
