OverDog connects online gamers based on their shared interests in sports, movies, music, and television. Interested in playing Call of Duty with a fellow 49ers fan? Want to play FIFA with someone who also loves Game of Thrones? OverDog agrees that there’s a huge gap in online matchmaking between playing friends and gaming with a total stranger. We’ve started with console gaming, but OverDog’s goal is to revolutionize matchmaking for all online game play. That can mean introducing a gamer to fellow a Arsenal fan for a game of FIFA on XBox One, delivering a more worthy adversary in a popular mobile game like Quiz Up, or connecting a gamer with the best possible teammate in some yet-to-be-created Oculus Rift MMO. Our first major challenge is this: succeeding as the first start-up with an app on the Xbox One, launching this November. We match gamers with better opponents, allow them to game with and watch influencers (athletes, actors, musicians, pro gamers) playing those same games, and keep track of it all so all OverDog users know how they’re doing on both an individual and team level against their rivals.
