Outpost Games was founded by gaming veterans from Electronic Arts and Zynga, and are made up of a wide variety of talented folks who have shipped highly successful games and platforms from Naughty Dog, Epic Games, Twitch, Google, and more. Outpost has raised a healthy $19.1M from Benchmark, Time Warner, Virgin, Advancit, Shanda, UCLA Ventures, and various angel investors. We are only about 30 employees, so this is a fantastic time to join a growing startup and make a huge impact across the company. We are focused on our mission to make games as fun to watch as they are to play. To do that, we're building a platform called Hero that turns every player into a performer and gives them a live, interactive audience. And to showcase our platform, we’re also building a multiplayer survival game called SOS which is uniquely designed like a live reality show. Our platform, Hero, is a collection of micro-services written in Clojure and deployed in AWS, some via Docker on ElasticBeanstalk and others directly on EC2 instances. The website, hero.tv, uses a combo of server-side templating and React.js. Our persistent data is in a combo of DynamoDB, redis, and memcached. Our game, SOS, is built on Unreal Engine.
