OutcomesX is a for-profit company, building the first marketplace to buy and sell social outcomes. We have already received financial support from Google.org, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and others, and we are currently executing the first “trade” with UBS Optimus Foundation to improve the lives of children affected by the war in Ukraine. The market for social outcomes is made possible due to our exclusive partnership with the only social outcomes registry, the Impact Genome Registry (IGR). IGR is a repository for impact data on over 2.2 million nonprofits and social programs. That impact data is reported based on an outcomes taxonomy that has been developed and refined over the past 30 years and a standardized verification process. The next step is creating a marketplace for the outcomes produced. Creating a market for social impact has a number of benefits: - Maintain accountability to consumers, shareholders, and employees who care about social issues - Mitigate the risk of “cause-washing” by purchasing verified impact - Lower the cost of social change - Efficiently allocate capital - Level the field for nonprofits - Simplify measurement Selling outcomes is just the first step.
