Open Ocean Robotics is revolutionizing the way we understand our ocean by creating solar-powered autonomous boats (Uncrewed Surface Vehicles; USVs). We provide ocean insights using our USV, Data Xplorer, designed for persistent continuous operations of up to six months. Engineered to withstand hurricane-force conditions, it is autonomously self-righting (patent-pending) allowing it to voyage offshore while remaining maneuverable enough to operate in congested nearshore environments. Data Xplorer can operate autonomously or via remote-control operation, and it transmits and receives data in real-time. Users can continuously monitor and control the USV while continuously collecting data in real-time. With modular sensor bays, our USVs are platforms for an interchangeable variety of sensors, allowing them to meet the flexible needs of any client. Their 360-degree, optical zoom, and thermal cameras make it an excellent choice for environmental monitoring, defence and security; and with the choice of adding multibeam sonar, our USVs are also an excellent solution for hydrographic surveying where they can save millions of kilograms of CO2 over just one vehicle’s lifetime.
