#What we do Oarket aims to optimize the Supply-Demand balance among “separated markets.” Our approach is to build a system that makes it easy for stores/companies to sell and purchase things efficiently throughout the world. We provide online stores with information on merchandises from various makers and stores from various countries. We first add your overstock items to our database, and start to send them to retail stores as recommendations via email. They can purchase items from you on our website. “separated markets” are markets which are located in other countries, or use other languages or currencies. #Why we do The Internet connects us all over the world. Mobile devices and Cloud computing process far bigger data in a far shorter time than computers did 10 years ago. The machine learning and the recommender system are getting smarter. Still, many stores and companies are suffering from supply-demand unbalance today in year 2014. With these knowledge and technologies, we believe we can resolve this supply and demand problem. #Who we are Takafumi HASEDA (CEO and Co-founder) started his early career as an owner of an online 3D puzzle store. He came across many problems while operating the store. As a retailer, he had the inventory risk (the overstock) and a difficulty in getting information of new merchandises. As a puzzle designer, it was hard for him to forecast demand and find a place to sell his products. This experience led him to start Oarket. Oarket was incorporated on May 8, 2014 in Tokyo, Japan and our office is in Tokyo for now. However, we consider moving our head office abroad, for instance to CA, United States, according to our new members, advisors, and investors.
