Numida is a financial services technology company based in Kampala, Uganda and we are building the digital and financial products that enable African small businesses to thrive. Through our mobile app Ugandan entrepreneurs can manage their sales, expenses, and credits, keep track of their stock so that they never miss a sale, and access convenient and unsecured business loans disbursed via mobile money in 24 hours. To date we have served more than 500 small businesses in Uganda. VISION Entrepreneurs in sub-Saharan Africa still manage their business with pen and paper even though they have a computer in their pocket – their smartphone. We believe that small businesses are the cornerstone of the African economy but they are operating far below their potential. Through appropriately built mobile technology we envision a thriving small business sector that creates dignified and secure employment, and increases standards of living for entrepreneurs, their families, and their staff. APPROACH We are committed to building world-class technology that will catalyze the growth of these businesses while creating systemic change in the way financial services are delivered across the continent. We hope not only to build the mobile tools that entrepreneurs need to grow their businesses, but to empower them to achieve their dreams. We’re starting in Uganda but we are building for scale.
