We solve two timely and relevant pains about delivering restaurant meals today: (1) It’s a broadly felt pain that food delivery is pricey. A big-mac-combo costs $20 all-in which is simply unsustainable. We’re facing the highest inflation in recent decades which will likely persists; doesn’t help. What we’ve learned is that users want cheap food. If you give them that they'll buy them every time, again and again. (2) Not just pricey, many "negative side effects" to on-demand delivery model: lack of predictability and consistency, food missing, food eaten by drivers, food smells like pot. The fact that people eats everyday but DoorDash averages 1.6X repeat order in a YEAR is a glaring indicator that we have not yet solved the food delivery problem. Food delivery today is much like early days of Zoom, there are players, but problem isn’t nearly solved.
