NHSycle careers

NHSycle aims to be a tool for stress relief to improve the wellbeing of NHS workers. These classes include synchronized cycling and choreography to the beat whilst using motivational speaking to inspire the riders. They are often fully booked within minutes. Pre- and post-class questionnaires showed the riders had significantly improved confidence, felt more able to overcome challenges and less stressed after the classes. I am therefore trying to develop this as a UK-wide wellbeing tool.
Wellbeing and resilience within NHS workers is a politically topical issue and has been prioritised by many NHS trusts. Exercise has been shown to improve wellbeing in employees and is regularly used by private businesses. There are many successful companies that use synchronized indoor cycling to improve wellbeing in some of the larger cities throughout the UK. These companies believe that the community their customers gain from these classes significantly improves the experience of their riders. The unique selling point of NHSycle is that it will build on the community already created within the NHS alongside the community built within the classes to create an environment where NHS workers feel de-stressed, empowered and inspired. This environment will hopefully be conveyed to the workplace and improve the dynamics within the NHS team.
