Native Traits careers

Native traits are naturally-occurring genetic traits that can be found in ancestral varieties of corn.(e.g. heirloom varieties, Indian corn). The flagship product is JumpStart, a trait that makes corn resistant to drought and tolerant of temperature extremes. Seven major seed companies have signed Material Transfer Agreements, effectively embedding the technolgy in their pre-commercial pipeline. The development of molecular markers and the identification of genes will allow this technology to be extended to other crops besides corn.
