We believe that: 1. existing social media is “thin” — it is great for banter, but terrible for substantive communication; 2. thin platforms are causing enormous frustration, but users have nowhere else online to go; 3. no one will be surprised in 5 years when intelligent platforms have usurped thin social media; and 4. there is a “dam ready to burst” of people who want to express themselves intelligently on social media, but are waiting for a platform with substance.
