Social venture changing the lives of 15% of Bhutan's population

Mountain Hazelnuts (MH) partners with 15,000 smallholder farming households, institutions, and community groups to sustainably and significantly improve their incomes by building a hazelnut value chain in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. At scale, the Company will impact 15% of Bhutan’s population and is already Bhutan’s largest private sector employer and first 100% foreign direct investment.

MH partners with local communities, the Government of Bhutan, and leading international institutions, such as the IFC, Asian Development Bank, Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and others. Current and past employees have come from McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, BCG, Google, NASA, and other leading companies.

MH incorporates best practices in stakeholder engagement, scientific assessment, traceability, and impact measurement, aspiring to serve as a model of social and environmental impact entrepreneurship.
