Monad is fusing the values championed by early cryptonetworks (decentralization, censorship resistance, and self-sovereignty of data and assets) with the performance of a world-class, world-scale system. This purpose inspires the culture of our team. We believe in building serious software, without taking *ourselves* too seriously. We are empirically-minded: we focus on real problems with reasonable performance tradeoffs, and we make a habit of measuring our progress. We are direct and honest with each other, leveraging a mutual sense of respect to offer clear and constructive feedback. We dedicate time to building relationships among us so that we can have that level of trust. We are on a mission together, and we strive to help each other be more successful. We recognize that sometimes the highest leverage on our time may be unblocking teammates. We believe in high leverage on time - that each member of our team is capable of a great deal - and err on the side of high responsibility and ownership. Since everyone is very *capable*, if someone is struggling, there is no judgment, only the realization that their valuable time is being misspent and should be focused on something else. We believe that it is important to deeply understand the technologies that we’re building or leveraging, and that time spent digging into the details is never time wasted. Likewise, we believe that it is important to be thorough in our designs, and to avoid technical shortcuts. We have conviction that we can enact radical change. We look forward to the journey ahead.
