Our technology is a platform for 100% bio-based, naturally degradable and compostable materials that serve as drop-in replacements for petroleum-based resins.
Applications include: agricultural and horticultural products, consumer packaged goods (CPG) containers, fibers and textiles, food service packaging, and space filling and protective molded parts and foams.
Our compostable and in-soil degradable material technology uses lignin, the primary waste product of biorefineries and paper mills, as a low-cost feedstock. Lignin is produced at 100 million tons/yr.
With our solvent-free and zero-waste process, we can tune our materials composition, mechanical properties, and degradation characteristics, allowing customers to choose from a range of products for their specific needs.
Our first products will be plastic pellets that can be processed into blown and cast films, injection molded into containers, caps, and utensils, and thermoformed into trays and space-filling packaging.
