MicroGen's nanotechnology energy harvester or power generator called the BOLT will provide free, clean energy to enable low power electronics and wireless sensor network (WSN) applications. The BOLT scavenges energy from ambient vibration and stores it on a storage device, such as an ultra-capacitor or advanced thin-film rechargeable battery. This combination creates a self-charging battery. It will eliminate the need to frequently change batteries, where the labor is cost prohibitive.
