The mission of Backd is to improve collateral efficiency in decentralized finance (DeFi). We are currently building a decentralized protocol on Ethereum, which solves the problem of being liquidated, faced by borrowers in DeFi. The Backd protocol generates interest for liquidity providers, while protecting borrowers of over-collateralized loans on borrow and lending protocols (e.g. Compound, AAVE) against becoming liquidable. Backd was founded by two PhDs from Imperial College London with several years of experience in blockchain research and development. The company recently received external funding and is expanding its team.
