McFly’s product is a heavy-lifting, game-changing, drone whose purpose is to fill the existing payload gap between limited drones and costly helicopters. We aim to provide a midsize (can lift up to 200Kg) compact drone (1.4m x 1.4m) for e-commerce, logistics, first responders, energy and HLS markets. Our product original motivation was as you can read below in our story to save lives, but we definitely see how it can be used to benefit humanity in logistics , energy , HLS and commerce markets. youtube.com/watch?v=cxQj2ifS_Ag The story behind McFly (and why we care about it) : In 2010 we have had the “Mount Carmel Forest Fire” event - a huge wildfire in northern Israel, near the city of Haifa. It was a real disaster: Claiming 44 lives, More than 17,000 people were evacuated, 25 square kilometers were devoured and It took 77 hours to fully extinguish it and that happened only by the use of aircrafts. Few years later, while still being troubled by that disaster I found myself talking in a meetup with the CTO of Israeli chief fire fighter authorities. I have learned that if they have had middle sized drone which can fly from a fire truck and is capable of carrying a couple of hundreds of Kilograms of water or fire-retardant materials, they could have stopped the fire much sooner. This made me realize there is an unfulfilled market need here for middle-sized drones. Later on, a 2nd proof of that need came in the form of a grant by the ministry of defense for developing such prototype. All of that brought me to start McFly.
