Marq - Language Assistant is a mobile app for language learning. Our approach is microlearning - lessons are available in the form of a chat once in 24 hours and last 15 minutes, followed by a small homework to revise the material.
The main goal of language learning is communication with other people, life situations solving (e.g. asking for directions on a trip, meeting some locals at the bar).
Other Duolingo-type apps teach the language out of the context. Our main competitive advantage is that we present the material in a communication format as during a face-to-face lesson with a real teacher. All lessons are divided into sprints and united by a storyline, which allows users to keep their interest and motivation high. The lessons end at the most intriguing moment, that’s why users wait for the new lesson to find out what happens next.
Our goal is to make speaking affordable and effective. After each sprint users will be offered to book a 15 minute lesson with a teacher. At these lessons the user will be able to practice speaking to overcome language barrier and revise the material, ask questions and get feedback if wanted.
Marq takes care of 70% of a typical teacher-led lesson (grammar and topics explanation, training exercises are done by user in the chat), the speaking is boosted with the help of a short talk session. Such an approach will 5 times lower the cost of learning and let us stand out and conquer the market.
