How does a Harvard-educated lawyer go from negotiating deals to creating chocolate lipsticks? For years, I worked tirelessly to find my passion. In between long nights at the office, I volunteered at museums, studied design and learned pastry at Le Cordon Bleu. When I discovered the intricacies and joys of working with chocolate, I fell in love. Less than a year later, I launched Maggie Louise Confections and my first line of whimsical, colorful chocolates. Each confection begins with a concept, from visiting the beauty counter, hosting a spring garden party, or enjoying cafe au lait and chocolate in a Paris cafe. I pull images, sketch pieces, compare colors and map out flavor profiles. I create piece after piece until everything is perfect: taste, color, size. I continue telling the story through the ribbon that wraps around the chocolate box, the artwork inside and every other aspect of the final product. Receiving a box from Maggie Louise Confections is truly an experience.
