• Work across our product teams to design, build, and release exciting features and products in the Lyft Rider application, used by millions of people every day

• Maintain and analyze metrics from; operating systems; control planes; and applications to assist in fault detection and performance enhancement
• Design, develop and deploy tooling and systems that continually improve the reliability, scalability and efficiency of our platform

• Build and deploy mission critical algorithms and services that can serve millions of requests per day (backend and data-streaming services written in C++, Go, and Python)

• Post-train and adapt open-source LLMs for SCC use cases using SFT, LoRA, and preference-tuning methods (RLHF, RLAIF, RLVR).
• Design and build AI-powered support agents and end-to-end agents for safety case management using LangGraph or equivalent agentic frameworks.

• Owner of the core data pipeline, responsible for scaling up data processing flow to meet the rapid data growth at Lyft
• Evolve data model and data schema based on business and engineering needs

• Partner with Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Business Partners to build software for business and user impact
• Perform technical analysis and build proof-of-concept prototypes to explore and propose solutions to both new and existing problems

• Design and analyze experiments in collaboration with other scientists, product & engineering; communicate findings to stakeholders and facilitate launch decisions
• Leverage advanced statistical techniques to generate quantitative insights and develop machine learning models

• Design rigorous experiments and quasi-experiments to measure the causal impact of SCC product and AI-agent launches, and drive data-informed launch decisions.
• Build causal ML models to optimize concession budget allocation, targeting the right support credit, to the right rider or driver, at the right moment to maximize trust and business impact.

• Establish engineering best practices and patterns; help uplift the team's craft and drive a culture of engineering excellence

• Architect People Solutions and Bridge Business-Technology Collaboration

Serve as the primary liaison between People stakeholders and engineering teams, translating both global and localized business needs into clear technical requirements taking an AI-Native approach and validating that delivered solutions meet business objectives.
Maintain deep expertise in both People domain knowledge (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Onboarding, Learning & Development, Employee Experience) and the technical systems that support it (Workday, Greenhouse, CultureAmp, and various boundary applications), enabling effective communication across both audiences.
Define the strategic roadmap for AI-First People systems, platforms, and data architecture in alignment with business strategy and technology capabilities.
Design and document business processes that streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and improve operational efficiency while ensuring technical feasibility.
Develop comprehensive business requirements documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria that enable engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Own the design vision and roadmap for the core rider journey
• Manage and develop a team of product designers, setting clear expectations and providing regular, direct feedback to reinforce strong work

• Own the customer care and support experience for Lyft's highest-priority growth initiatives—spanning international expansion, autonomous vehicles, and new lines of business
