Uber doesn't do well in smaller cities and rural areas with low population density. So it doesn't tend to exist there.

LibreTaxi is service that connects paying passengers with everyday drivers willing to make a buck or two, and there's no middleman.

Also, LibreTaxi is software. City officials, rural communities, companies can download and run LibreTaxi instance for their own needs.

App is currently translated into 17 languages (website is little bit less). There are ~20K users worldwide with traction in some areas. App will be used for poverty alleviation in developing countries.
