I built LeaseBase because I was the customer. Managing 40+ units across Sacramento, I lived the pain — tracking rent caps by jurisdiction, generating compliant notices at 2 AM, chasing maintenance vendors. Every "solution" on the market was either a glorified spreadsheet or a tool built for property managers, not owners. So I built what I needed: software that handles the legal complexity and operational overhead so landlords can stay independent without the risk. The best part of building LeaseBase is watching other landlords realize they don't have to choose between doing it all themselves and paying someone $1,400/mo to do it for them.
