People at Landjourney Technologies
I spent the last several years building consumer lending at scale, where the hard part was volume. Agricultural lending is a different problem, and a more interesting one. The loans are complex and seasonal, and they sit on top of relationships between a farmer and a lender who has often known them for decades. Nobody has built good software for it. That is what drew me here. We are a small team, and I mean genuinely small. You will own real parts of the platform rather than a corner of someone else's, and there is no queue between your work and a customer using it. The product is modern and we intend to keep it that way. We ship to banks and credit unions, so it has to hold up: SOC 2 Type II, bank-level security, automated regulatory reporting, and our own integration platform that third parties build against. We prototype quickly, but the part I find most interesting is the turn from a fast prototype into something a customer can depend on. That gap is where most of the engineering judgment lives, and it is where you would spend your time. What you will not find here is layers of process. Decisions that would take a quarter of meetings elsewhere get made in an afternoon, which is either the best or the worst thing about the job depending on who you are. We work AI-native, and I expect engineers to be fluent with those tools. Not as a novelty, but as how the work actually gets done.
