In 2010, every single bottle of kombucha was recalled from the shelves of retailers across the nation. The government had discovered that kombucha contains a small amount of alcohol. That amount just so happened to be over the 0.5% legal limit. When the product was relaunched, it was different. What used to be delicious, full-bodied and effervescent, was now watered-down and sour. Michael Faye, the founder of Kombucha Dog, was left with no other option. He had to begin making it himself. Three years later, here we are. Kombucha Dog is now sold in over 150 retailers statewide and is the only kombucha made perfectly in congruence with the traditional method (and some modern day fermentation techniques). Our kombucha also contains the highest number of probiotics with the least amount of sugar. Kombucha Dog also has an awesome cause tied into our mission. We feature homeless dogs on our labels to help them find their forever families. Over 100 dogs have found homes so far.
