Kelp.Digital is a distributed open-source software for the digital photography market. Simply put, it's a content platform that allows users to protect, share and license their creative work. Simple, transparent and secure. We are the first to verify content creators' authorship of their work, and first to create legally binding copyright statements. It's no secret that the market of creative content as it is today doesn't work quite well. On one hand, content creators have little to no control over their work when it's shared online, there's no such thing as proper content attribution and, subsequently, no fair compensation for creative work. On the other hand, when browsing through, for example, photos or images online, it can be hard to track them back to their author. So we are often faced with a choice: A) - do things 'the right way': spend time investigating & contacting the author to ask for permission to use their work, cross fingers and wait for a replay, B) - 'freebooting' the image and (maybe) putting a 'contact for credit' note C) - 'forgetting about it' and, possibly going to stock photography marketplace, to among the images available As we all know, 'time is money', so very few of us will choose scenario A. People steal creativity not because we are evil, but because it is the easier option... At Kelp, we work to make 'doing the right thing' the easiest option possible. We aim to provide the means so that people can rightfully license/buy quality visual content directly from its authors in a few clicks. By doing so, we believe we could fix the market for both sides.
