Jam Lab is a seed-stage startup with a goal of making the physical aspect of music as accessible and convenient as the digital side has been made by streaming. With a location-level business model that has been proven to work, but a larger vision combined with technological and strategic differentiation, we believe Jam Lab offers a secure opportunity with significant upside potential as we pursue our vision. Jam Lab is currently operated by a founder along with a small team of individuals who help with specialized tasks. We are in need of a co-founder with a passion for music, the grit and willingness to help us pursue our vision, and the proactiveness and flexibility to handle the unpredictable nature of day-to-day operations once our first location opens this fall. In short, Jam Lab's mission is to eliminate the barriers involved in creating music by providing musicians with convenient and accessible physical and digital resources from instruments and rehearsal space to community and artistic connections, making it easy to learn, practice, and play music. We envision Jam Lab as becoming a social gathering place for the music community. In addition to our sound-proofed and fully-equipped practice rooms, we plan on having a large lounge in the venue with a bar where we will host small live shows and meetups for musicians to connect with one another. Jam Lab is also developing a companion web and app platform that will provide musicians with a social forum to find, meet, and collaborate with other like-minded musicians. Whether you are a guitarist looking to play with a drummer for a one-off session, or a bassist looking for a guitarist and drummer to start a band with, this platform will allow you to easily create a listing which other musicians can then see and add themselves to if it seems like a good fit.
