Cities want electric vehicles (EVs) on the road as quickly as possible, but aren’t offering a charging solution for the millions of drivers who park on the street. Right now, there is limited interest in curbside charging, as the major EV charging companies are focusing on regional and private development. itselectric’s mission is to overcome this problem by creating EV charging specifically built for cities. We’ll accomplish this by installing and maintaining a network of thousands of curbside charging posts, concentrating on dense residential neighborhoods. itselectric’s customer base are drivers who live in dense, urban environments who rely on street parking (no access to a garage or driveway). This represents a significant untapped market: In the northeast United States, there are at least 5,000,000 drivers who rely on street parking, and do not have access to convenient charging.
