Inkrypt's mission is to build a censorship-resistant global distributed nodal network, timestamped using a blockchain ledger, that provides content storage and retrieval for journalism outlets. The distributed nature of the network coupled with the IPFS domain will provide journalism hosting with both front and back-end censorship resistance.

Journalism/media companies will purchase coins native to the Inkrypt protocol to access to storage. This storage is provided by the nodes on the network, which are individuals across the world who will put up their excess hard drive storage space up for rent and will be compensated with crypto coins native to the Inkrypt protocol. The files that media outlets provide will be fragmented, replicated, encrypted, and distributed across the network. Nodes will also act as content delivery networks (CDNs) which will allow for data repackaging and content delivery to the end customer on an IPFS-based domain.
