Icarus RT careers

Icarus RT is developing low-cost power boosting and thermal energy storage systems for solar installations. The Icarus system salvages waste heat from traditional solar panels and converts it into additional electrical power. Cooling the panels also improves efficiency. The Icarus system can produce roughly 25% more electrical output over traditional solar panel installations at a lower cost per kilowatt. In addition, our systems can store thermal energy to generate additional power as the sun goes down to better align with peak demand, or balance the output of the array during cloud shading. Using thermal storage for generation has a number of advantages over traditional batteries. The result is improved ROI for commercial installations, power more closely aligned to peak demand, and a more grid friendly power curve for the next generation of utility scale PV plants.
