HoloKit X is an iPhone AR accessory. It is a portable headset that you plug your iPhone into in order to display stereoscopic AR through the goggles. It uses sophisticated apple hardware to power its audio and visual effects. The product consists of a headset and an iPhone app. To see 3D imaging in the AR universe, most headsets cost between $600-$3000, but HoloKit X starts as much as at 1/30th of the standard price. It has 3D imaging, interaction, sound, and tracking. To massively reduced the price for consumers, HoloKit X made a strategic decision. According to founder Botao Hu, “it’s kind of like a trick”.
