Information engagement technology for emergency communication and public wellness
HazAdapt, Inc. is an Oregon-based local information engagement technology (IET) startup innovating personal emergency response. Our namesake platform, HazAdapt, reimagines emergency communication and public wellness by replacing limited mass notification technology with customized information exchange and community-centric functionality. For civilians, it provides a free emergency reporting app and information portal. For emergency responding agencies and community response groups, it provides a cloud-based solution that helps them alert, engage, and empower the communities they serve. Our products are inclusively designed and boost community-centered adaptive capacity.

HazAdapt, Inc. was founded by Ginny Katz, a PhD student in Geography and Public Safety, along with Uday Phalak and Omeed Habibelahian, two Masters students in Computer Science, at Oregon State University. From the beginning, we connect and work closely with local communities, emergency managers, and public safety authorities to design the most efficient emergency communication apps with real and proven potential to replace traditional mass notification technology, providing more confidence for everyone involved before, during, and after an emergency.
