The GrubTubs solution solves two problems at once – the need for affordable organic animal feed and the overabundance of food waste going into the landfill. Our system uses discarded organics to grow grubs that become a high-protein food source for chickens, pigs, and fish. These grubs are the magic link to diverting food away from landfills and turning trash into a small farmer’s treasure. Our logistical model makes it possible for the discarded food in restaurants around the city to be delivered to local farms that can repurpose it into affordable animal feed. We complete the cycle from food to food waste and then back to food again.
