$US12B+ will be spent in 2015 on hardware to power High Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Yet 90% of the world's existing computational capacity sits idle - creating a massive opportunity. GridMarkets has architected a sharing economy platform that leverages cheap spare server capacity to power HPC applications (e.g. animation, engineering, financial services). Using a simple push-button interface that masks significant technical complexity, 300+ businesses have already used our platform to save project time, budget or both. In August 2015, our solution was embedded in one of the leading animation software packages used by over 100,000 global FX animators and studios for major motion pictures. To scale and to lay the foundation for creating a global marketplace for buyers & sellers of computational capacity, we seek $US8M to expand the engineering team, support more HPC applications across varied markets, build a global support desk and to scale our partnerships.
