Granular careers

Launched in May 2021, Granular is a fast-growing start-up developing a platform to help consumers of electricity, producers, or suppliers, to move towards a 24/7 clean energy world. “24/7” refers to a system wherein renewable energy is sourced and tracked from production to consumption on an hourly basis. This movement has gained significant traction in the recent years, with the support of major corporates such as Google or Microsoft, as well as public bodies and lawmakers (EU commission, US federal administration). In 2020, one of our co-founders launched the EnergyTag initiative, which now gathers more than 200 participants from the energy industry, as well as regulators and standard-setting bodies. It aims to standardize a new generation of “granular” (eg hourly or sub-hourly) certificates of renewable electricity, which appear as a necessary tool to support this transition.

Our platform provides a way to manage those Granular Certificates and to trade them with other participants, essentially allowing to measure and optimize our client’s level of clean energy sourcing. Since we incorporated in 2021, we have signed partnerships with major partners (leading power market operator in Europe, consortium of European Transmission System Operators, …). We are supported by BPIFrance and are part of the Microsoft environmental accelerator at Station F, the world biggest start-up campus.
