Culture overview
Our values of Grit, Passion, Inventiveness, Relationships, Results and Energy are central to daily life at Impel. Each of these elements is critical to creating an environment in which each person can grow both personally and professionally while we tirelessly work to grow the company and delight current customers. They are posted in our workplace, referenced daily, and form the core of our Stormchaser award, a quarterly award given to employees who exhibit these values in their work and daily lives. By rewarding, recognizing, and celebrating these top performers, we are able to thank them for their work and encourage others to strive for excellence. Due to the overwhelming passion our team has demonstrated within Impel and in the community, we created two teams to help coordinate our efforts. The Employee Engagement Committee’s (EEC) mission is to foster employee engagement by strengthening internal relationships, enriching the workplace environment, and giving back to our community while the Employee Resource Group (ERC) focuses on community, service, diversity and inclusion, and fundraising for community-based organizations such as our local Boys and Girls Club, The Good Life Youth Foundation, Play For Our Freedom and the Syracuse Veteran’s Hospital. Representatives meet bi-weekly to plan events and initiatives that meet these goals. Some of the recent initiatives include creating an “Edutainment” sessions for employees to share their knowledge and skills with other team members, quarterly informal coffee chats between employees and management team members to increase transparency and build relationships, and a cookie baking contest to support one of our local charities. By providing opportunities to connect with one another, grow as individuals and a team, and give back, we are creating an even stronger company and community.
