Growers use sensors, computer vision, and satellite imagery, among other tools, to collect crop data. But it hasn't led to more understanding. Farms are currently generating ~500,000 data points a day, in ten years that’s expected to be 2,700,000 a day. Agriculture and horticulture’s rapid digitization produce overwhelming amounts of data, but very few actionable insights. We have found a way to affordably give every tree a digital identity from that we can cross-reference all the data points. Up until now, this hasn’t been done. FruitMinder will provide growers with the precision tools by setting up the back-end infrastructure and leveraging expansive datasets to drive a new way of thinking, forecasting, and understanding the drivers of yield.
