Consistent voice and data connection is essential for communication, access to information, entry to markets, and overall economic and personal development.

Most of the world is connected to mobile voice and data sporadically, at best. Over 80% of phones in Latin America, for example, are prepaid with no contract. This means, that every few days, individuals go to the local store to deposit another $2-3 for continued access. Oftentimes, these people go disconnected.

Farrow developed an app called Pig.gi to help solve this problem and keep people more connected! Pig.gi subsidizes mobile connectivity for its users by placing content and advertising on the lock screens of Android phones. Every time a user looks at his or her phone, the first thing they see is new, engaging content. On average this is 100 pieces of content per day. In exchange, to-date, Pig.gi pays between 20-30% of an active user's monthly spend for a mobile connection.
