Embue careers
Embue is the first whole-building intelligence and automation platform for multi-housing operators giving them visibility and control of every apartment, common space and piece of equipment.
The problem: Apartment portfolio owners’ biggest assets are their buildings, but they have no visibility or control of how they’re working.
Why it matters: Owners can’t manage energy usage or connect their buildings to the smart grid. Their staff are stressed out and overworked from responding to vague resident complaints while major problems go unnoticed. Ultimately this really matters because it reduces operating income and asset value.
Our journey: Robert, Larry and Maryellen had each worked together at successful B2B startups and collectively have experience in scalable mission critical systems, machine learning, building technology and sustainability. Embue began by selling to Boston-based owners with a mix of affordable, market rate and senior housing properties and a regional or national footprint. From this beachhead we are expanding geographically within those portfolios and with new customers. At the same time we have brought on partners with a national network of sales and installation teams to support our geographical growth in a capital efficient way.
The opportunity: A total addressable US market of $5B in annual revenue, and the capability to reduce carbon emissions by 40 million tons of CO2e.
Why Embue? Why now?
- We have figured out how to reduce carbon emissions and create value in multi-housing.
- We have de-risked the product and go-to-market.
- We are at an inflection point in customer growth.
