Every child has an exceptional experience at school.

We believe that school shapes trajectories. The teachers you have, the concepts you learn, the friends you meet, and the interests you cultivate all shape who you become. Do you stay in town, or leave for adventure? Do you pursue your passion, or pick something practical? To what do you aspire? Your experience in school has an enormous impact on your life.

Unfortunately, schools are failing most students.
Despite the heroic efforts of individual teachers and administrators, most students have a horrible experience in school. The K-12 system itself is overwhelmed and outmoded. Schools are unable to meet the unique needs of each student, and the result is a generic, stilting experience.

Edia is working to make school exceptional.
In 1984, Benjamin Bloom discovered that students given a 1:1 tutor performed 2-standard deviations better than their peers who received classroom instruction. That’s astounding! With tutoring, an “average” student rises to the top of their class, and the “bottom” student rises to the middle.

If we could change K-12 schooling so that every student got the benefits of a 1:1 tutor, our lives would be dramatically different. More of us would go on to achieve our dreams, unemcumbered by self-doubts and stunted potential. More of us would progress humanity forward—curing diseases, discovering breakthroughs, inventing technologies, advancing arts, and generally creating more abundance, wonder, and joy.
