East Harlem Tutorial Program careers

We began in 1958 as a children's reading group in a local resident's living room. Helen Webber and her husband, George “Bill” Webber, started our company in 1958. Since then, we have grown from a small tutoring program into a multi-site organization, preparing thousands of students for college success. We are committed to pioneering the most impactful program models in the sector. We are constantly identifying and responding to the dynamic needs of East Harlem families.Our after-school programs and it's charter schools, East Harlem Scholars Academies, are high-performing, student-centered learning environments. More than 15,000 East Harlem youth and their families have walked through our doors and improved their academic skills, developed confidence, and found community.
