DTE Materials has developed a patent pending chemical solvent that improves the thermal resistivity (R-value) of cellulosic materials for use as thermal insulation for commercial and residential buildings. Our process allows us to extract valuable byproducts from the fibers such as precursors to bio-based plastics, carbon fiber, and rubbers. Our product is cellulose blow-in insulation which provides benefits of swift installation times, non-toxic, increased fire resilience, and lasts much longer than fiberglass. DTE's rendition of blowin insulation has more coverage and loft due to our unique blend of stiff bast fibers within a newsprint majority.
