Jobs at Drizzle (Techstars '16)
Our mission is to reward and increase high-quality online publishing by helping journalists and other content creators make money directly from their great work. Publishers are struggling to make enough revenue to cover their costs, especially now as they move to digital outlets, where people are accustomed to getting content for free and the use of adblock continues to rise. The quality of journalism and news reporting is at risk of major decline. We aim to make a better way for publishers to support their work, without relying on ads or click-bait tactics. We want journalists and other content creators to be able to produce the content they are passionate about. We believe that people are willing to support good journalism and content creation, but the process needs to be simpler. Currently, users must register and start subscriptions on multiple sites to get all their favorite content. We give users a simple, hassle-free way to register just once and purchase online content anywhere. We also allow users to pay for individual pieces of content via micropayments. We have a hard-working culture that thinks big and isn't afraid to be wrong. We prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. We obsess over our customers, not over our competition. We make decisions that benefit the company in the long-term, even if it means we sacrifice short-term results. We value being frugal in order to accomplish more with less. Be resourceful and formidable. We are early-stage startup funded by Techstars and COX Enterprises.
