About the Founders: Andrea Thomaz (CEO) has 15 years experience in research on social robots and machine learning conducted at UT Austin, Georgia Tech and MIT. She has been recognized as a leader in the field by the National Academy of Science as a Kavli fellow, by MIT Technology Review’s TR35, by Popular Science Magazine on their "Brilliant 10” list, and by the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). Vivian Chu (CTO) has 10 years of experience programming mobile manipulation platforms and applying machine learning algorithms to concrete tasks across various robotic platforms such as the PR2, Meka Robot, and Kinova Jaco2. She has worked at industry labs such as IBM, Google X, HP, and Honda Research Institute and has been recognized as a rising star in the field by MIT Technology Review’s TR35 and by Robohub as one of "25 women in robotics you need to know about”.
