Diavacs is developing first-in-class therapies to prevent and reverse autoimmune diseases, with an initial focus on Type 1 Diabetes. Autoimmune diseases (like rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and Type 1 Diabetes) occur when the immune system malfunctions and attacks healthy cells. Although there are many drugs to treat the symptoms of these diseases (in fact, 4 of the 5 top-selling drugs in the world are treatments for autoimmune disease), there are no cures, and patients must live with these sometimes life-threatening illnesses for the rest of their lives. Diavacs' products are designed to reprogram the immune system to restore healthy immune function and free patients from the burden of chronic autoimmune illness.
