Detect Technologies is an organization, which mainly focuses on pipeline integrity and management. We have an innovative product, GUMPS, which is a sensor that has the capability to monitor long range oil and gas pipelines and forecast defects on them before they occur. We believe that by predicting leaks by measuring damages that cause them, we can build a system that will effectively eliminate all leaks and catastrophes led by them. Detect Technologies is an IIT Madras start up, incorporated in February 2016. It received a seed funding of $600,000 in 2017 from some notable investors including Kris Gopalakrishnan. It is now in the field-trials phase and is ready to become a ready-to-sell product company by 2017 end. We are now working to create a refined, industrial-grade product, complete with a built-in user interface to show the complete pipe structure of the plant that is being monitored and display the areas of interest as well as the status of the pipes at any time. We are also building the first of its kind Fault Intelligence Engine which when integrated into the product would be able to predict defects months before it develops into a leak. The whole project has scope of releasing multiple scientific papers, all innovative in their respective fields, with all sub-teams working together to redefine the safety paradigm.
